Conversations about actual football games are almost too nice to be true since it feels so good to be having them. The National Football League, the 12-team Playoff, and conference realignment have dominated the sports news this summer; it's long about that we return to the subject of baseball. Also unlike last year, we are not sitting here fretting about whether or not the season would be canceled this season. Let us raise a glass in celebration of this achievement.
Because there will be no lack of important headline games, it is anticipated that we will have audiences that are at or near capacity around the country. It may be tough to forecast a blockbuster game before of the second week of August, depending on the time of year. We have no way of predicting whether or not a team like Coastal Carolina will go on to become a national sensation. After all, if the previous season is any indication, we may not even know who Coastal Carolina will meet in a particular week until the game takes place.
For instance, consider the following examples of games that are worth devoting time away from other commitments to: The games taking place this weekend include Alabama vs. Auburn, Florida vs. LSU, Notre Dame vs. Wisconsin (in Chicago), Georgia vs. Auburn, Ohio State vs. Indiana, Liberty vs. Ole Miss, Ole Miss vs. Alabama, Iowa vs. Iowa State, Texas A&M vs. LSU, University of Arizona vs. Florida, and Penalty Kick Online. Ole Miss vs. Michigan State is a college football game.
But I have a feeling that we're going to get off to a rollicking start in 2021 if everything goes as planned.
